Weather Relay, operated by Grady West Labs. Last updated 5 September 2026.

Weather Relay is an SMS service that returns a short weather forecast for a location you send it. It is operated by Grady West Labs, a sole proprietorship, for the operator and a small number of personal contacts. This policy describes what the service does with the information you send it.

What we receive

What we do with it

Your message is used for exactly one purpose: to look up a weather forecast for the coordinates it contains and send that forecast back to you. Nothing else. We do not sell, rent, or share your information, and we do not send marketing messages of any kind.

Storage

The service itself is stateless. It keeps no database and writes no record of your messages, your phone number, or your locations. Each message is processed and discarded.

Two providers we rely on do retain records, according to their own policies and outside our control:

Who else sees your location

To produce a forecast we send your coordinates to two weather data providers: Open-Meteo and the United States National Weather Service. Only the coordinates are sent. Your phone number and the rest of your message are never transmitted to them, and neither provider is given any means of identifying you.

Location data is sensitive. The coordinates you send describe where you physically are. Please send them only to services you are willing to trust with that, including this one.

Opting out

Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving messages from this number. Reply HELP for assistance. Opt-out requests are handled by our SMS carrier and take effect immediately.

Children

This service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted at this address with an updated date.
