Grady West Labs is the name I build personal tools under. It is a sole proprietorship with no employees and no customers — just a place to put things I make for myself and occasionally share with friends.
An SMS service for backcountry weather. You text it GPS coordinates and it replies with a short forecast for that location, compressed to fit in a single 140-character message so it works over Apple's Messages via satellite when you're out of cell range.
It is used by me and a small number of friends on backpacking trips. Access is by invitation — the service only replies to phone numbers on an explicit list.
