Weather Relay

Backcountry weather forecasts by text message, from Grady West Labs.

Weather Relay is an automated SMS service. You text it GPS coordinates and it replies with a short weather forecast for that location, compressed to fit in a single 140-character message so it works over satellite when you have no cell service.

How consent works

This service uses text-to-join opt-in. There is no sign-up form, and no phone number is ever collected through a form or entered by anyone other than the subscriber. Consent is given by the subscriber texting START from the handset that will receive the messages, which means the consent record originates from the device itself.

You can withdraw consent at any time by replying STOP.
